It’s Okay To Start Over

So you're thinking about starting over? I know, it’s hard. Trust me, I KNOW. I’ve started over more times than I can count and right now, I’m in the process of doing so again. Starting was hard enough, but in comparison to this, the first time was easy. In the beginning your full of enthusiasm, everyone is supportive and your naivety means you can probably accomplish impossible because you don’t know better. … but now, it’s different. You’ve got battles scars, people hardly noticing let along supporting and now you…

Slow Down

I took the photo above just after waking up from a nap, in my favourite spot in Madrid. This was one of the first times in my entire adult life I had truly allowed myself to just rest and it was one of the best choices I’ve ever made. When say slow down, it actually has two meanings. The first is a reminder that it’s okay to not to always be busy. In fact, it’s actually the healthiest way to live. I mean even God took a day to rest!…

Trusting The Process

“We overestimate what we can do in a year and underestimate what we can do in 5.” I still remember standing on stage and repeating those words. It was at the end of a very successful Dream Nation event and in all honesty, I had felt like I had made it. That was nearly 5 years ago and I could have never have predicted what would have happened next. My company multiplied, we reached the height of popularity & hype and then… I let my life unravel and I watched…

Are you willing to sacrifice who you are for what you want to become?

I won't lie to you, more than once in life I've felt like I've arrived. Owning my own business, staff working for me, respect from people I've never met, etc etc etc #IfYouKnowYouKnow But it wasn't enough. It either didn't last or I intentionally blow it up. I was comfortable and I convinced myself I didn't have to keep pushing... but in my heart, I knew there was still more, so I started over, again and again. Sacrifice = an act of giving up something valued for the sake of…

I have a confession… I’m a recovering perfectionist.

We often confuse striving for excellence with aiming for perfection. However, excellence is the quality of being outstanding, whereas perfectionism is a psychological trait wherein its maladaptive form “drives people to attempt to achieve unattainable ideals or unrealistic goals, often leading to depression and low self-esteem”. In my experience, I’ve found that having perfection as a goal will do more harm than good. It can damage your relationship with yourself, your work and those who support you. It will suck the joy out of the process of creating. Worst of…

How do I get better at marketing?

Question “I have recently started writing a blog and was hoping for some marketing advice. I’m trying to get it out to the widest audience, including people who aren’t my friends so I was wondering if you could offer advice as I feel like you are very good at promotion. I’m just not sure if what I’m currently doing is effective and I’m unsure if it comes across as annoying or intrusive.” - 'Mr Looking For a Bigger Audience' It's totally okay that you don't know much about marketing, however,…

Should I pay for a mentor?

Question A younger friend of mine was recently referred to a potential new mentor. However, the new mentor is charging her £500 to be a part of his programme. He has a lot of industry acclaim but her main concern isn't the money, but rather that he doesn't seem to care about her personally or even remember basic details about her business. Should she go ahead or not? My Response The best advice I can give you with go with your gut. Everything single time I go against my instincts…
